Backend/ML Engineer

DeepVista is looking for a proactive Backend / ML Engineer to join our fast-growing startup. You’ll work directly with our founder (ex-Google Brain, PhD in AI) to build an AI product already in the hands of early users. This is a chance to take ownership of our core ML/backend architecture and solve challenging problems end-to-end.

💡 Our investors include the former Chief Scientist of Zoom and senior leaders from Google’s CTO office.

📍 Location: Anywhere in the U.S. or Canada
💰 Compensation: $4000-5,000/month + 0.25–1% equity

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines

• Develop and optimize ML models (including LLM integration & fine-tuning)

• Design scalable AI system architectures

• Collaborate with the founder on product & technical decisions

• Rapidly iterate and improve based on user feedback
  
  

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years in software development (1+ year in ML; startup experience a plus)
  Strong in Python + PyTorch/TensorFlow

• Experience with LLMs (fine-tuning or deployment)

• Solid backend development (APIs, databases, cloud)

• Independent problem-solver, strong communicator, async-friendly
  
  

Nice to have:

• Startup ML engineering experience

• Knowledge of LLM deployment, vector DBs, RAG systems

• Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) & MLOps experience

• Model optimization & inference acceleration

• Developer tools or AI product background
